Women Action Against Poverty (WAAP) was founded in 2013 and is dedicated to empowering communities in Kenya and Somalia. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment where women and marginalized communities can thrive through education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods.
WAAP's mission transcends regional and belief barriers to serve individuals regardless of origin. We work to create platforms where communities contribute not only financial resources but also human capital and ideas for socio-economic development.
Our core areas of focus include Education, Healthcare, Livelihood, Food Security, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Natural Resource Management (NRM), and Peacebuilding & Civic Engagement.
WAAP believes in building mutually beneficial partnerships with other non-profits, commercial, and governmental institutions to uplift communities and foster sustainable development.
WAAP promotes education as a tool to break the cycle of poverty, providing opportunities for both children and adults.
We support sustainable livelihoods through projects focused on food security and capacity-building for farmers.
WAAP provides healthcare services focusing on maternal health, nutrition, and disease prevention.
